How to Use Rhovecs for JEE

The JEE syllabus may look like a list of chapters. But questions do not work like that. One problem can use ideas from algebra, trigonometry, limits and calculus at the same time. That is why Rhovecs treats the syllabus as a concept dependency graph. Each concept knows what you should know before learning it, and what concepts it unlocks later.

So sometimes Rhovecs may ask you to go back and strengthen an older concept before moving ahead. That is not going backwards. It is building the base needed for what comes next. You can see this full map under Insights → Graph.

Rhovecs does not mark a concept as strong because you studied it or watched a lesson. Your mastery comes from your actual attempts on real past-exam questions. Harder questions count for more. Recent work counts more than old work. If you use a hint and then answer correctly, you get half credit. If you view the solution, that attempt earns no credit.

Why so strict? Because Rhovecs would rather know the truth about your preparation today than flatter you. Flattery costs marks in January.

The mastery levels are:

• 65%+ — secure enough to build on;
• 80%+ — consolidated;
• 90%+ — exam-grade.

Your long-term goal is simple: get every concept above 90% and keep it there.

JEE can ask the same concept in different ways. Rhovecs calls these different question forms patterns. Knowing one type of definite-integration question does not mean you are ready for every definite-integration question. So mastery is not only about getting questions right — Rhovecs also checks whether you have seen enough different patterns.

A concept can be strong today and weaker after a few weeks if you do not use it. Rhovecs tracks a forgetting curve for each concept and schedules reviews before too much is lost. As your preparation changes, Rhovecs changes what it recommends: first build new concepts; then strengthen them; then protect them from forgetting.

Knowing how to solve a problem and solving it fast enough in JEE are not the same thing. Rhovecs measures speed separately from mastery. A slow timed set never reduces your mastery or changes your review schedule.

Rhovecs picks a default. It never locks a door. Different subject today? The other two are one tap away. Following your school or coaching? Align your path to that chapter. Want to practise something specific? Self-practice and custom tests are always there. The app decides so you don't have to — not so you can't.

Rhovecs has no leaderboard. That is a decision, not a missing feature. A leaderboard is a distraction. It tells you where you stand in a queue of other students — but it does not tell you what to do next. It makes someone else's bad week feel like your progress. And it pushes you to make decisions based on comparison instead of evidence.

Rhovecs gives you better instruments, built from your own data:

• the Mastery Wheel — how much of each subject is truly strong;
• pattern coverage — how many question forms you have actually faced;
• the review queue — how well your memory is being maintained;
• the rank projection — where your current evidence points.

Make your decisions from these. The only ranking that matters happens on exam day. Until then, the rank feature is always a projection, never a prediction — and it is about your evidence, not about beating the student next to you.

Rhovecs learns you from your attempts. On day one it has not seen any. So your first session feels like an ordinary question bank. That is the app collecting evidence, not the app at work. The real product shows up from day two, when your plan starts rebuilding around what you did yesterday. Give it seven honest days, then judge it — see the last section of this guide.

Open Today's Focus and Rhovecs gives you one concept and one session. The default subject is the subject where you are furthest behind, so Math, Physics and Chemistry stay balanced. You can still switch to either of the other two subjects.

Inside the subject, Rhovecs picks the highest-ranked concept on your learning path that you are ready for. If a prerequisite is not strong enough, Rhovecs redirects you to that prerequisite first. It also tells you why — the focus card shows reasons such as a prerequisite gap, a high-weightage chapter, or “unlocks several concepts”, and you can open the numbers drawer to see the figures behind the choice.

The idea is simple: you should know why something is being recommended.

Because concepts depend on each other. If a foundation is weak, solving harder questions above it becomes much harder. Rhovecs will not intentionally send you into a concept that the dependency graph says you are not ready for. When it redirects you, it shows what the prerequisite is needed for.

Use Align to your school chapter. Choose the chapter you are currently studying. Rhovecs re-plans the route toward that chapter — and readies the prerequisite chapters needed on the way. So you are not only jumping to the target chapter; you are making the path to it practisable too.

A session is not simply a fixed number of questions from one topic. Its size changes with the chapter's exam weight. Rhovecs can also mix in short review questions from concepts that are due on your forgetting schedule — so even if you do not open the Review page, urgent revision still enters your daily practice.

Before the session, you can open the formula deck for today's concept and any formula sets due for review. Looking through the formula deck does not affect your scores.

Ten questions on the same comfortable pattern are not the same as ten questions across different patterns. Rhovecs tracks pattern coverage so you can see which forms of a concept you have actually faced.

Under Insights → Concepts, each pattern can be shown as Strong, Developing, Weak, Limited, or Untested. An Untested pattern is important: it means JEE can ask the concept in a form you have not yet faced. Repeating one familiar form eventually stops giving useful credit. A concept is exam-ready only when its patterns are properly covered.

Practising a specific pattern from the pattern table is a Pro feature.

You attempt first. The explanation comes after your answer is recorded. And remember this: a wrong answer is not a verdict on you. It is the most useful information Rhovecs gets about where your next marks are.

If you choose a wrong option, Rhovecs may show the likely mistake behind that option — described as our best read, not a record of your working. It does not pretend to know exactly what you wrote on paper. The aim is to help you correct the thinking and try again, without immediately revealing the answer.

If you normally solve similar questions correctly, one miss may look more like a slip than a concept gap. If you have little good evidence on that kind of problem, the same miss may be stronger evidence that the concept needs work. Rhovecs uses your previous attempts to tell the difference. You are never punished twice for one bad moment — and never flattered about a real gap.

After a wrong answer, Rhovecs can offer a micro-drill: one more unattempted problem, the same question pattern, a chance to apply the correction immediately.

Here is how it appears in the app: after your wrong answer, the suggested problem shows up in the Similar problems panel on the practice screen. Tap it and it opens right there, as a short side-step — you solve it, then press Back to original and you are exactly where you left off. Your session and your place in the queue are never lost. And a drill never leads to another drill, so a quick fix stays quick.

Known misconceptions for the concept can also appear during practice, so you can see common traps before meeting them in the exam.

Hints are available only after you have committed an answer. A correct answer after a hint earns half credit.

If you want the full method, the stepped solution takes you through the problem one step at a time. If one step is unclear, you can open a deeper explanation for that step. If a concept keeps not moving despite real effort, Rhovecs flags it as Stuck and points you to Learn — a guided explanation built around that concept and your recent mistakes. For smaller questions such as a formula lookup, use quick help without leaving the problem.

On a tablet with a stylus, you can solve the problem using handwritten working inside Rhovecs. If the answer is wrong, the AI can read your handwritten solution, compare it with the problem, and point to the specific step where the mistake happened — classifying it as a concept issue, a calculation slip, or a careless mistake. It then explains what went wrong and hints at the correct approach from that point.

This is a beta feature. Handwriting analysis takes real analysis time, so the result may not be instant. There is also a daily limit on analyses.

Rhovecs tracks a forgetting curve for every concept you have mastered. It schedules review close to the point where your memory is likely to start slipping.

Under Review → Due now (Pro), concepts are ranked by urgency — the concepts closest to slipping come first. These sessions are meant to be short, because you are refreshing something you already know, not learning it again from zero. Coming up (Pro) shows your expected review load for the next two weeks. If you leave reviews for too long, the queue grows, because forgetting continues even when you are not practising.

The most urgent review concepts are still automatically mixed into your Today's Focus session. The Review page is where you can see and clear the schedule directly, but urgent review is also part of the daily loop. Rhovecs only says All caught up when you really have memory to maintain and nothing is currently due.

Some JEE knowledge is not mainly about solving problems — especially in Chemistry: flame colours, oxidation states, name reactions, exceptions. These facts can fade even when your problem-solving mastery is good, so Rhovecs tracks fact recall separately.

Each recall card has its own small forgetting schedule. Answer correctly and the card moves further into the future — you may see back in 6 days. Answer wrongly and the card returns again in the same session until you clear it.

Cards are multiple-choice, and the options are shuffled. You do not grade yourself — Rhovecs grades the response, so the schedule is based on actual answers, not on how confident you felt. There is a small daily cap; missed cards come first; new cards pause if a backlog builds. Your Insights → Fact recall section shows how well these facts are staying in memory.

Every chapter has Quick Revision Notes — for the night before a test, returning to a chapter you have not touched for some time, or quickly refreshing the essentials. They do not replace your own notes. Writing your own notes is still part of learning. The Rhovecs notes are meant for speed.

While reading a chapter's revision notes, you also see your current position in that chapter: chapter mastery, concept status, weakest question patterns, patterns you have never faced, your mistake breakdown, and a suggested place to start when you finish reading.

A question pattern becomes available for timed practice only after you have learned it in normal practice. Rhovecs does not use speed practice to test material you have not yet learned.

A timed set is a short burst on one learned question pattern. It uses a handful of fresh variations of real JEE questions — generated from verified past-exam problems and machine-checked, so you get new numbers instead of repeatedly solving a question you remember. Rhovecs measures: first-attempt accuracy on questions you have not seen before; your time compared with exam pace; and whether misses look like calculation slips or something deeper.

Each pattern gets a stake based on its real exam weight, its difficulty, and its trend. The Start here timed set is the pattern where the clock currently costs you the most marks in the exam. You can also choose a specific chapter, and Rhovecs will focus on the pattern in that chapter where speed is costing you most.

Your pace is shown beside exam pace — for example, You take 3:10 · Exam pace 2:30. The rank page can also show the marks at risk in the exam from patterns where you are still slow. These marks-at-risk are about what the clock can cost you in the exam. They are not a deduction from your rank projection.

Timed practice has a separate ledger. A slow set, a blank or a mistake does not lower your mastery or your review schedule. The timer measures speed. It does not punish learning.

When a session ends, Rhovecs does not just show “7/10 correct.” Accuracy alone says very little about a session. The session summary shows what tonight's work changed:

• Your chapter as a ring. Every concept is an arc, coloured by where it now stands, with the chapter's overall mastery in the centre — the same number the Learning Path shows, computed once, so no two screens disagree.
• Why this chapter matters. The chapter's real exam weightage, from the counted PYQ record — so you know whether tonight's work was on 12-mark territory or 2-mark territory.
• Proof of change. Question patterns you got wrong in earlier sessions and right tonight. That is not a score — that is evidence you changed.
• What held, what slipped. Each review concept woven into your session gets a verdict, plus any milestones you crossed and your streak.
• What's next. One clear pointer — never a menu.

Even on a rough night, one thing is always true: your lifetime totals moved, and they only move forward.

The Mastery Wheel shows the whole subject. Each chapter is an arc. Concepts inside it are coloured by mastery: red — not yet secure; amber — ready, 65%+; soft green — consolidated, 80%+; deep green — highly mastered, 90%+.

The target is simple: turn the whole wheel deep green and keep it there. Tap a chapter to see which concepts still need work.

Also check pattern coverage here: a high mastery score with low coverage can be misleading — strong on the forms you have seen, unprepared for the forms you have not. And to see whether preparation is improving, Insights shows Momentum (concepts improving, steady or declining), Mastery over time, Common mistake types, Strengths & weaknesses, and Fact recall.

For one concept, Rhovecs shows four meters: Confidence — how reliably you solve it; Trend — improving or slipping; Priority — how much the exam cares; Review — how soon you may need a refresher. You also see the pattern table and the dependency chain.

If you have put in real effort but mastery is not moving, the concept can get a Stuck flag. That is a signal to stop blindly grinding more problems and use Learn instead — a guided explanation around that concept and your recent mistakes.

Recurring errors are grouped by the kind of action that fixes them:

• Re-learn — understand the concept again before doing more practice;
• Drill — the idea is understood, but execution needs more reps;
• Refine technique — habits such as misreading, rushing or skipping checks;
• Repair foundation — fix the prerequisite leaking into this topic;
• formula slips can go directly to flashcards.

The Start here card picks the highest-impact fix right now. And Rhovecs does not call a small clean sample “pristine performance” — after only a little work, it says too early to tell.

The heatmap shows mastery over weeks — each concept a row, each week a column. It makes two things easy to see: a concept that was green slowly fading as you forget it, and a concept staying stuck despite repeated practice. Two shortlists turn it into action: Fix these now (concepts actively slipping) and Bridge to mastery (concepts close to crossing the next mastery line).

The Graph shows the dependency structure directly — each concept a node, prerequisites connected with arrows, nodes coloured by mastery. Use it to understand what a concept depends on, what it unlocks, and why Rhovecs keeps recommending a particular prerequisite. You do not need it every day; seeing it once early makes the rest of the system easier to understand.

A mock tells you how your preparation behaves under exam conditions. Daily practice is where you build and repair that preparation. The intended loop is daily Today's Focus + a weekly mock. Taking many mocks without fixing the gaps only measures the same problems again.

Every Rhovecs mock is built entirely from real past JEE questions. Scoring follows NTA marking: +4 for correct, −1 for incorrect. The timer follows real exam conditions.

• Full Mocks — a complete JEE Main paper. A good weekly habit. 2 are free; the mock catalog is Pro.
• High-Yield Mocks — the same full-paper format, but every question from the highest-weightage chapters. More signal when the exam is getting close.
• Chapter tests — one chapter under exam conditions. Chapters are grouped by real exam value: Must-master, High value, Moderate, Lower yield.
• Custom tests — your chapters, a duration of 1, 2 or 3 hours, built in three taps.

Rhovecs calculates chapter weightage from the actual previous-year question record: questions per paper, share of the exam, whether the chapter is rising or fading across years, how consistently it appears, and how difficult its questions are. Chapter cards show this evidence directly.

The Coach Report is intentionally not a huge report. It gives you at most four mark leaks worth fixing — each with the marks at stake, the kind of problem, and a button that takes you to the fix.

Rhovecs compares the mock with what it already knew about you before the paper. If a question came from territory you have not covered yet, missing it is treated as an acceptable miss, not automatically as a failure. A gap is called a gap only when the evidence supports it.

In paper review, questions are tagged with causes — concept gap, pattern gap, time sink, rushed, careless — so reading the paper becomes a diagnosis, not an answer key. Time is analysed separately: right but slow; rushed and wrong; too many minutes on a question you should have left. Marks lost to time need a different fix from marks lost to knowledge.

Two more honest mechanics: skipping a question in a mock never lowers mastery — a strategic skip is exam craft, not evidence — and every mock score becomes another anchor for your rank projection.

Rhovecs does not claim to know your future rank. It computes where your current evidence points. Every attempt updates readiness for concepts. Rhovecs then simulates thousands of complete JEE Main papers — question weights drawn from 11,700+ real previous-year questions — and calibrates the scores against real marks-percentile-rank data from recent JEE Mains. Your actual mock scores anchor the projection further.

Because Rhovecs keeps uncertainty visible. Syllabus you have not practised is treated as real uncertainty — not zero, not an average. As you practise more, the range narrows because the system knows more about your preparation.

Rhovecs does not show percentile or AIR until your own evidence is strong enough to support them. Early on, you may see only a score range. A rank is shown only when Rhovecs has enough evidence to defend it. A precise rank on day three would be a guess — and you would make real decisions based on it.

The projection ledger splits lost marks into causes: concepts never practised, mastery gaps, pattern gaps, fading due to forgetting. The aim is not to judge you. It is to show which group of marks may be cheapest to recover next.

Rhovecs then turns the target into four concrete numbers:

• how many more concepts you need;
• what mastery level they need;
• by what date you should reach that readiness;
• what weekly pace is needed.

The readiness date leaves time for revision before the exam — it is not simply the exam date. Your required weekly pace is shown beside your actual pace, in the same unit. No vague messages like “work 3× harder” — just two rates you can compare. If there is not enough history to measure your speed, Rhovecs stays silent about it. And if the target is out of reach even with everything remaining fully mastered, Rhovecs tells you that — and shows the best rank the remaining runway supports.

The trajectory chart shows where your measured evidence was each week. It does not draw a dotted future line. And remember: Speed's marks-at-risk are the marks the clock can cost you in the exam — they are not subtracted from your projection.

• Open Today's Focus. Do the recommended concept session — the highest-value work you are ready for.
• Clear small revision items. If recall cards or reviews are due, clear them. Some urgent reviews may already be mixed into Today's Focus.
• Stop. You do not need to keep searching for more things to do just because there are more pages in the app. The point of Rhovecs is to reduce that decision-making.

Take a full mock. Then read the Coach Report, review the important mark leaks, and put the fixes back into normal daily practice. Do not replace daily building with repeated testing. Mocks measure. Daily practice builds.

Rhovecs becomes more useful as it gets more real evidence from your work. On day one, it knows very little about you. Each honest attempt helps it understand what you know, what you do not yet know, which patterns you have covered, what you are forgetting, where you are slow, and what should come next.
